Event: Nurses Day 2025 — “Innovating Care, Impacting Lives”, marking the Nursing 140 anniversary

The brief
Celebrate nursing staff across a shift-based workforce, on hospital premises, on the profession’s 140th anniversary.
The constraint that shaped everything
Nurses cannot all leave the ward at once. A conventional sit-down programme would have meant most of the workforce missing it. The event was therefore built in two halves that run independently: a ticketed auditorium programme, and a continuous activity floor people could drop into between shifts for ten minutes or an hour.
Stage and technical production
- Three-screen projection — a main screen with two side relays, so sightlines worked from every seat
- Full audio and video control position: mixing desk, video switcher with multiviewer, wireless microphone racks
- Moving-head lighting rig on overhead truss
- Themed motion graphics carrying the “Innovating Care, Impacting Lives” campaign artwork across all three screens
- A live light-art performance — an artist drawing illuminated artwork in real time, including nursing figures and the hospital building, relayed to the side screens
The activity floor
Five staffed stations, all producing something the nurses kept:
- Calligraphy on ID card holders — hand-marbled holders personalised on the spot with each nurse’s name
- DIY succulent gardening — plant a succulent, take it back to the ward
- Colouring and craft station with professional marker sets
- Photo booth with a gold backdrop and printed props
- Bubble tea counter and catered food service running throughout
Fresh flowers were presented to nursing staff, with navy, white and gold balloon columns, floral styling and red carpet through the activity area.
